Is it light beams, or lasers captured with mirrors? Or something perhaps a bit more concrete? Acrylic yarn strung above visitors’ heads in an alleyway with careful attention paid both to the orientation of strands of color and also to the effect of light on certain materials gives the eyes an unusual treat. Half deception and half sleight-of-light, your eyes will be reminded of light varieties and spectrums that they do not fully comprehend, nor see regularly. LED lights illuminate the installation, causing a light-mixing/color-cancellation effect with red, green, blue, and ultraviolet light as certain materials react. Strands are manipulated and fastened using attachment points that already exist on surrounding buildings and structures, creating an almost organic installation that infests a pre-existing utilitarian, urban space in the most natural ways available.
