FLIGHT is a glowing flock of birds, flapping in slow motion suspended over Smale Park. The installation draws parallels between natural migration in the wild and the many human migrations that have impacted and shaped Cincinnati through the years.

As the flock draws observers in for a closer look, they’ll find stories of people who migrated to Cincinnati linked to each of the birds. These stories will paint a picture of individuals who traveled from near and far to land in Cincinnati, and how these groups of people together built the city we know today.

Attendees can explore the space and view the installation from many angles, including walking underneath the oversized birds, from the nearby playground or labyrinth, or viewing them from the nearby illuminated Roebling Suspension Bridge.
